In July 2010, SONS OF YORK took a trip to Brooklyn, NY where they recorded a three track demo with producers Gus Van Go and Werner F (Hollerado, The Trews, Rah Rah). The resulting songs capture the bands' classic rock influences and the sound is a dark and gritty departure from their previous work.
lyrics
Hey girl, I recognized your shape
From across the field, you're making my heart race
Your confident stride, you kept a steady pace
From across the field, I can't forget your shape
So certain I knew ya from this life or another
Aren't you that same girl from the magazine cover?
Who started a turf war between Athens and Sparta
Three hundred soldiers all died because I loved ya
If I may be so bold as to ask
What is your name? Why you run so fast?
Raining for weeks, the sun shines at last
Darling lay down, splendor in the grass
Hey girl, what's inside your chest?
I'm really curious, where do you lay your head down to rest?
And who's inside your picture frame?
Are you all alone in your picture frame?
And could I be the one who stays inside your picture frame?
If I may be so bold as to ask
What is your name? Why you run so fast?
Raining for weeks, the sun shines at last
Darling lay down, splendor in the grass
If I may be so bold as to ask
What is your name? Why do you run so fast?
Raining for weeks, now the sun shines at last
Darling lay down
